Arkar began his martial arts career at the age of six. He graduated from United Karate Academy of Burma
(South East Asia). He is the 3rd generation of students
to Master Gichan Funakoshi (The founder of Shotokan
Karate). He specialized in the Art of Samurai which
includes Iaido, Naginatjutsu, Yarijutsu, Samurai Jujitsu
and Kyudo (bow and arrow). He practices and lives by
the Bushido (Code of Samurai). He had obtained three times Grand National Karate (sparing, weapon,
Kata) titles. He is Undefeated (16/16 KO) British
Bare Knuckle fighter in United Kingdom. He has been
teaching Karate since 1984 in Britain, Australia, Asia
and now, here in the U.S. He is currently a 7th Degree
Black Belt in six different disciplines, Certified by the
American Martial Arts Organization, World Black Belt
Bureau, Independent Martial Arts Federation and
Professional Karate Association.
Arkar began his bodybuilding career in 1984 in the
United Kingdom at the age of 18. He won 14 British
titles, twice qualifying him for the World Championship. Since Arkar moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1995, he has
won National Qualifier for Mr. U.S.A. four times.
Arkar has a PhD in Nutrition from the United Kingdom. In 1988, he was a nutritionist for the Brunei Darussalam
(South East Asia) Olympic Teams. He was their Bodybuilding
National Team Coach.
Currently, Arkar owns and operates one of the largest Martial
Arts Schools in southeast USA: Shotomon Ryu.
